Privacy Policy for ClimbLogger

1. Information We Collect
ClimbLogger collects the following information to provide you with the best climbing tracking experience:
- Climbing session data: Routes climbed, grades, climbing styles, ascent types, and elevation
- GPS location data: Used only for altitude tracking during climbing sessions
- Health data: Heart rate data from Apple Watch (optional, only if you grant permission)
- Strava integration: Athlete ID and name when you connect your Strava account
- Custom settings: Your custom disciplines, grading systems, and climbing types
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Track and display your climbing sessions
- Calculate climbing statistics and progress
- Sync sessions between your iPhone and Apple Watch
- Sync climbing sessions to Strava (when you authorize it)
- Generate shareable climbing infographics
- Provide altitude tracking via GPS
3. Strava Integration
When you connect your Strava account to ClimbLogger, we:
- Store your Strava athlete ID and name locally on your device
- Create climbing activities on your Strava profile (only when you explicitly sync a session)
- Upload session statistics and descriptions to Strava
- Upload session infographics as photos to your Strava activities
- Include heart rate data in synced activities (if available)
You have full control: You can disconnect Strava at any time in the app Settings, and you can delete any synced activities directly on Strava.
4. Data Storage
All your climbing data is stored locally on your device:
- We do not operate cloud servers
- We do not store your data on external servers
- Data syncs between your iPhone and Apple Watch via Apple's WatchConnectivity framework
- Your data remains private and under your control
5. Data Sharing
We do not share your data with third parties, except:
- Strava: Only when you explicitly sync a session to Strava
- Apple Health: Heart rate data is read from Apple Health (requires your permission)
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
6. Location Data
ClimbLogger uses GPS/location services only for:
- Altitude tracking during climbing sessions
- Calculating elevation gain
Location data is:
- Only collected when you start a climbing session
- Stored locally on your device
- Never shared with third parties (except Strava, if you sync)
- You can disable location access in iOS Settings at any time
7. Health Data
If you grant permission, ClimbLogger reads heart rate data from Apple Health to:
- Display heart rate statistics in your sessions
- Include heart rate data in Strava syncs (optional)
Health data:
- Is only read when you start a session on Apple Watch
- Requires explicit permission via Apple Health
- Is stored locally on your device
- Can be revoked in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices
8. Children's Privacy
ClimbLogger is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
9. Security
We take data security seriously:
- All data is stored locally using iOS's secure storage mechanisms
- Strava tokens are stored using iOS Keychain (encrypted)
- No user data is transmitted to our servers (we don't have any!)
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: All your data is visible in the app
- Delete your data: Delete sessions individually or clear all data in Settings
- Export your data: Sessions can be synced to Strava or viewed as infographics
- Disconnect integrations: Disconnect Strava at any time
- Revoke permissions: Revoke location or health access in iOS Settings
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through:
- App updates with release notes
- In-app notifications
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

- Strava-data: Atlet-ID og navn når du kobler til Strava

All data lagres lokalt på din enhet. Vi driver ikke skytjenester eller eksterne servere.
